Criteria for Group
Swimmers in the Orca Junior Group are mainly welcomed based on their ability to learn in a group environment. Swimming ability is simply the legal ability to swim all 4 strokes and a basic understanding of all the rules and terminology for the sport. During these temporary times, it will be even more important that the listening skills and coexistence behaviour is what allows swimmers to participate in this group. Swimmers will be between 7-11 years old (exceptions can be made for exceptional listeners) and will enjoy swimming 45-minute swim as well as 15 minutes land activation sessions 3 times a week with 1 hour per week of dry land.
Goals for the Orca Junior Group
The goal is to learn how to posture correctly in the water and have the legs and streamlines that are 100% correct and will allow for long term success of the athletes
Session Options
At this beginner level of swimming, we as an organization will look to build flexible scheduling through the workweek, as we want to encourage participation in many different activities. Monday – Thursday you can register for 2 60 minute sessions based on the options below, on Friday it will be expected that all Orca Junior Swimmers come together for a Team Day (Racing, Team Skill Test, Relay Day) Registration times are based on a first come first serve basis.
