Killer Whale Academy is the apex program withing the Campbell River Killer Whales swimming program. A unique and dedicated lifestyle of health, dedication, discipline and excellence will be the daily expectations. Swimmers will be able to maintain dedication to the prescribed training schedule, along with excellent academics, healthy family and social time. Athletes in this group will have a strong level of agency and equity in this program, so mature diligent communication with the coaching staff is a must. The Academy program will be thorough, as it will cover a comprehensive swimming program that covers the highest levels of aerobic, and anaerobic training that covers all 4 strokes, and all distances. Campbell River Killer Whales Academy’s program designation is to prepare athletes to have the ability to swim Long Course at a Senior National Level. To support the swimming program, Academy athletes will be assigned a land work program that promotes a well balanced physical literacy that will include kettlebells, TRX suspension, basic power lifts, Olympic platform lifts, agility training, and outdoor aerobic training. New to the 2025-2026 season the Academy will offer specific goal setting, specific sport neuro mechanics training, underwater video analysis and much more.

#1 Dedication to developing a winning and successful mindset
#2 Willingness to participate in the full schedule
#3 Minimum 3 years experience in competitive swimming
